We hear many stories about the young lads who lied about their age so that they could join up in the First World War.
This is the story of one Pudsey man who defied the Army age limit of 38, so that he could serve his country after the death of his son. Today sees the Centenary of 48 year old Joseph Blackburn Ramsden, who died on 10th March 1916. May he rest in peace.
