Information update: Frank Clifford Wade & John W Barran

Sadly there are still a number of soldiers who died during both wars for whom we dont have service information or a known final resting place. We can announce that Lance Corporal Frank Clifford Wade and Private John William Barran have been identified from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission archives, and their details have been added to our memorial. Lance Corporal Wade died serving his country on the 27th of September 1916. He was a member of 9th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) and a former pupil at Pudsey Grammar School. Private Barran died during the Somme offensive on the 4th July 1916 whilst serving as a member of 11th Btn. West Yorkshire Regiment. He had previously worked in the Iron foundries of Stanningley. They are commemorated along with forty other men of Pudsey on the Thiepval memorial in the Somme, France.
